Workshop: Fundamentals of GS1-128 Highlighting the SSCC

Friday, June 3, 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM

GS1-128 barcodes can be used to encode product data for cartons, cases, and pallets. They can also add security and sustainability to your supply chain when including extended information, such as Best Before Date, Batch/Lot Number, Serial Number, and the Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC). SSCCs are used to identify logistics units, such as cases, cartons, pallets, or air cargo containers of trade items as they travel through shipping and receiving. When used in conjunction with electronic business transactions, the SSCC acts as a license plate, identifying the contents of the logistics unit which brings benefits for order and delivery tracking and automated goods receiving.

This workshop starts with an introduction to GS1-128 barcodes and covers an introduction to the SSCC. By attending, you'll learn about the structure of the GS1-128 and SSCC and how to create them. You’ll also learn how to apply the GS1-128 barcode to your supply chain, create Application Identifiers, how SSCCs are used, and how your business can benefit from both. You will also have the opportunity to ask the workshop leader questions specific to your business. All attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
