GS1 Healthcare US Initiative Workgroups

Get involved to foster broad collaboration and help shape the future of the healthcare industry

GS1 Healthcare US® Initiative members provide technical and functional expertise to address key industry opportunities through the adoption and use of GS1 Standards.The initiative’s Workgroups bring targeted teams together to develop a variety of implementation tools, educational materials, and industry recommendations in support of the Initiative.

By participating, you can take an active role in driving positive change and innovation in your industry.

All members of the GS1 Healthcare US Initiative are encouraged to participate in our Workgroups and may join at any time. 

Why join our targeted workgroups?

Joining a Workgroup allows you can get involved, foster broad collaboration, and make a difference—no matter your focus or expertise. As a participant, help identify challenges, explore solutions, and create adoption plans for:

Discusses and defines data quality within the context of basic validation level data and core transactional data associated with medical device and pharmaceuticals.

Aims to provide education, awareness, and support on the GS1 DataMatrix capabilities that can help industry embrace the 2027 2D Sunrise for regulated healthcare.

Identifies opportunities for manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and providers/dispensers to implement RFID encoding practices and ensures encoding standardization across the supply chain.

Leverages the recent work by supply chain leaders to develop a proof of concept on required mandatory fields for trading master data with the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN®).

Collaborates across a diverse mix of pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers, dispensers, solution providers and associations preparing to meet the requirements of interoperability of item-level serialization defined in the DSCSA.

Bringing together stakeholders from various industries, this discussion group will examine the importance of leveraging investments in global standards and how GS1 Standards with RFID technology supports supply chain and inventory management imperatives.
