The API allows you to directly query both the GS1 US Data Hub | Product database and the GS1 Global Registry Platform using commands (API endpoints) that you can build into your own software applications. Our APIs are secured with unique keys (one per subscriber) and are supported by an online developer portal where you can learn how to use the API commands so that you can connect directly to GS1 US Data Hub data from an external application.
Product data is populated by GS1 US Data Hub | Product - Create/Manage subscribers, who are the brand owners who licensed a prefix or Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) from GS1 US and added their product to GS1 US Data Hub.
Location data is similarly populated by GS1 US Data Hub | Location - Create/Manage subscribers, which consist of companies who licensed a prefix or Global Location Number (GLN) from GS1 US and added their location to GS1 US Data Hub. Global product and company data are also supplied by the GS1 Global Registry Platform.
